About Us

Frontier Girls is a hands on, purely voluntary scouting organization for girls aged 3-18 that was established in 2007 by Kerry Cordy, as an alternative to the Girl Scouts. Frontier Girls takes girls back to the original intent of scouting, and focuses on building character, community service, and patriotism, along with learning lots of fun and interesting topics, and learning to be independent.

Frontier Girls have the opportunity to earn over 1,200 badges on a wide range of topics under 9 major categories: Agriculture, Art, Character, Home, Health & Fitness, Knowledge, Outdoors, Science, World. Badges are pins, not sew on patches, making the badges easier to display, and remove as you level up. You keep the same vest as long as it fits you, cutting down on parents fees! One big difference with Frontier Girls is that all levels meet together and the older girls get hands on leadership opportunities helping the younger ones. We also have our own Flag Corp and Tall Flag Corp.

Frontier Girl troops are individually owned by the Leader or a Sponsor Organization, and therefore do all their own fundraising as needs arise, and keep 100% of the profits; instead of a National Fundraiser they are forced to participate in and are only allowed to keep 1/4 of the profit. One other fun and interesting difference between Frontier Girls and other Scouts is that the leaders get to earn awards and badges also!!

Required Activities for every troop are:

1.  Earn the Emergency Preparedness, Etiquette, and Our Flag badge at least once every three years with the goal of earning them at each level of participation.  We earn one of these every year.  Our goal is simply to make sure that girls who go through our program come out as well prepared, polite, and patriotic young ladies.

2.  Participate in three community service projects each year

a.One for whoever hosts your troop we collect, snip and ready the Box Tops for Education & Campbell's Points for the school;

b.one for your immediate community, we have a flower garden in the town park that we plant and maintain;

c.one of the girls’ choice, this changes for us each year.

Hours served count toward Servant’s Heart Awards unless they are part of a girl’s Make a Difference Project.

3.  Earn at least one character badge each year.   We earn one at EVERY meeting and event!

We are troop #146 located in NW Missouri. We began in September of 2011, and are 11 girls strong.

  1. To the wonderful Frontier Girls of Troop 146, THANK YOU all for the awesome care package you sent us in Kuwait.

    I am a deployed Soldier and these packages bring a little bit of home to us, especially when someone so close to my real home sends it. I am from Billings, MO and was delighted to receive the variety of things you sent, especially the fruit snacks.

    When I saw you were from Missouri, I had to look you up online.

    Thanks again,
    Andy Williams
